Thematic Integration Brief on Food Systems

This Thematic Integration Brief (TIB) provides a non-exhaustive compilation of the interconnections between food systems and climate change (C), disaster risks (D), and the environment (E) at the global, regional and local levels. The brief aims to enhance understanding of the interdependence between food systems – from production to consumption – and the climate/disaster/environment risks (C/D/E). It highlights both the positive and negative impacts of the global food system on the climate and the environment, and vice versa and finally offers practical advice on how to transform food systems to adapt to, and mitigate, C/D/E related risks.
