The Green Nexus - Building Synergies for Greater Impact

Learning journey organised from November 2025 to December 2026 by the SDC networks A&FS, Climate Change / DRR / Environment and RésEAU to strengthen their Green Nexus understanding and operations and thereby increase the impact of their work

The Green Nexus refers to an integrated approach that recognizes and manages the interdependent relationships between climate and ecosystems, food systems, and water resources, to deliver sustainable, resilient, and equitable development outcomes while minimizing trade-offs and maximizing co-benefits. It aims to optimise synergies, while being aware of and reducing potential collateral harm.

Within SDC, this endeavour is carried by the three networks of Agriculture and Food systems (AFS), Climate Change / DRR / Environment (CDE), and Water (Rés'Eau). In the coming years, we wish to strengthen our Green Nexus understanding and operations to increase the impact of our work, building on the experiences and expertise of the network members. This journey is structured along different milestones:
