Event outcomes

Outcomes of an interactive webinar organised on 10 November 2025 by the SDC networks A&FS, Climate Change / DRR / Environment and RésEAU to explore the strengthening of cross-thematic collaboration for better resilience and by exchanging across the GREEN NEXUS of climate, disaster risk reduction, environment, food and water.

Looking back at the events in Blatten, this webinar, organised by the CDE network, brought together insights from the scientific community and from the application of integrated risk management to this emergency. The presentation of a case from a less developed country led to a discussion on what good practices and lessons learned could be used in developing countries.

Building on the dialogue initiated with the new network’s first newsletter on Digitalisation in Climate, DRR and Environment, CDE hosted an online event in December 2023, to discuss the potential of digitalizaiton for C/D/E. In doing so, the event is part of a continuous effort to enhance digitalisation among actors of Swiss development cooperation such as the 37th AGUASAN Workshop on digitalisation and data management in the water sector.

The DRR Network of SDC conducted an E-Discussion from January 19 to February 9, 2022 on the topic of early warning and early action

Organized by the SDC Networks for DRR and Gender and Swiss NGO DRR Platform, the two-day event on "Gender issues and the Position of Women in Climate and Disaster Resilience" took place on November 24 & 25, 2021 in Bern

The SDC thematic Networks CDE and Education co-organised on June 8, 2021 a webinar on «Climate Change, Disaster Risk Reduction and the Role of Education – Sharing project experiences and good practices from addressing climate change and DRR through the education sector»

In September 2019 the DRR Network and the working group from the Learning Journey on urban-rural linkages organized a conversation on "Resilience in urban areas: from concepts to practice", with inputs from Michael Szönyi (Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance), Sarah Sabry (Save the Children) and Reto Bühler/ Christian Willi (EBP)

The SDC-hosted Networks RésEAU (Water), DRR, Employment & Income, Climate Change & Environment and Agriculture & Food Security as well as Swiss partner NGOs and other interested networks ventured jointly on November 2018 on a Learning Journey on "Climate Resilient Agriculture"

In the context of the Swiss humanitarian Aid Training, jointly organized with the DRR Network (now CDE Network), Nadia Zoudar provided on August 27, 2018 insight into how Ecosystems serve as a valuable source of resilience towards disasters. The role of ecosystems was embedded into the training’s overall topic of “Cost-Benefit of DRR measures"

The SDC and Caritas hosted the Brown Bag Lunch on May 2018 that covered the content and potential for application of the publication «Where people and their land are safer - A Compendium of Good Practices in DRR» which was published in December 2017 as a co-production between the Swiss NGO DRR Platform, the World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies (WOCAT), and the University of Bern.
